Friends of the Baltic presented the Energy Efficiently Building exhibition at an international seminar in Minsk

On September 13-14, an international seminar on climate change and energy efficiency was organized at the Centre of Ecological Solutions in Minsk, Belarus. It included a project meeting with INFORSE-Europe, Friends of the Baltic and other partners from Russia, Belarus and Latvia of the Strengthening NGOs In Promotion Of Sustainable Energy For Local Development And Climate Protection project.

Among the participants of the seminar were INFORSE-Europe (Denmark), Friends of the Baltic, Ecocentrum, Kola environmental centre, Russian Social-Ecological Union (Russia), Vides aizsardzības klubs (Latvia), Centre of Ecological Solutions, Minsk bicycle society, IPO Ecoрartnership, and Interakcia Foundation (Belarus).

Organizations exchanged information and experience in helping to reduce the carbon footprint of humanity and discussed future cooperation.

One of the meeting’s highlights was the presentation of the Energy Efficiently Building exhibition by a Friends of the Baltic expert. The exhibition consists of five posters, a brochure with comments on the exhibition and an Energycase. It has been suggested to disseminate the materials of the exhibition among non-profit and educational organizations, schools and universities of Belarus, especially in the cities included in the international Covenant of Mayors on climate and energy, for further use within the city events. According to the participants of the seminar, the topic of energy efficiency is very relevant to Belarus. The exhibition will help teachers to show children and their parents simple energy-efficient solutions. It is important to cooperate with the Belarusian Ministry of Education in this educational work.

The organizations discussed different forms of using the exhibition in the SPARE project because it will facilitate the use of common resources and to unite in order to achieve common goals.

Friends of the Baltic are open for new project ideas and are looking forward to getting in touch with potential partners. For all questions related to the exhibition please send us an e-mail to or call +7 921 9117986 and +7 921 7444255.
