"Energy and environment" competition was launched in Saint-Petersburg

"Energy and environment" competition of school projects on resourсes and energy efficiency was presented to teachers of Saint-Petersburg and Leningrad region by Friends of the Baltic NGO.  The contest is a part of  School project for Application of Resources and Energy (SPARE).

On September 24 the seminar-training for school teachers - SPARE members was held in Saint-Petersburg. 45 participant visited this offline event, that was the firs for Friends of the Baltic NGO during half of year. Olga Senova, headleader of Friends of the Baltic NGO, says: «This year our traditional seminar for teachers was held on a larger scale, we had got our regular partners as well as 15 new participants». Experienced SPARE members shared their experience within the project. Everyone could take equipment for their research. Participants especially were interested in Lux-meter and CO2-meter. Ideas for future school SPARE projects have been created during the seminar.

All-russian "Energy and Environment" competition and International Energy Saving Day were announced on the event. Regional stage of competition will last till the 1 of February. Schoolchildren with their projects, and teachers who develop school climate plans and thematic lessons are invited to participate in the competition. The topic of the competition is energy saving, energy efficiency, resource saving - minimization of waste generation and energy consumption throughout the entire life cycle of items. Energy Saving Day on November 11 will be dedicated to waste reduction topic. 

The teachers got acquainted with the exhibition "Energy-Saving Building" and were able to take educational materials from the SPARE project.
